The Arbeitspapiere / Working Papers feature current research contributions by staff of the Institute of Ethnology and its visiting scholars – presentations and conference papers, lecture notes, initial drafts for publication projects – and make these available to a broader public in the pre-publishing sense. 

As a sequel to the series edited by Thomas Schweizer, Kölner ethnologische Arbeitspapiere, published by Holos Bonn (No. 1.1990 – No. 11.1995), the new series Kölner Arbeitspapiere zur Ethnologie (KAE) is now freely accessible in electronic form (as PDF files) on the Kölner UniversitätsPublikationsServer (KUPS).
